His mother cooked horse spleen soup on that day, so the lake that now covers the place where their ger once stood is known as "Spleen Lake".
Travel by train to the copper mining city of Erdenet, then cycle 300 km in the remote mountains and valleys of Bulgan and Selenge provinces to finish at the remarkable Buddhist monastery of Amarbayasgalant.
Fly to the northern edge of the Gobi Desert then cycle 400 km over the remote and spectacular Khangai mountain range to finish at Kharkhorin where the center
of the great Mongol Empire once stood.
