Motorcycle Tours Equipment & Logistics

Motorbike tours in Mongolia are specialised and require more than just the motorbikes.

We have exceptionally good logistics, local knowledge and a strong team that includes mechanics, a doctor, helicopter rescue support, as well as telecommunications and appropriate support vehicles. This is what's needed for a good motorcycle tour and will give you peace of mind.

We are well equipped with all the necessary communication equipment such as satellite phone and short wave radios. They would be vitally important in case of an emergency as well as enabling smooth running of the tour thanks to communication between the tour staff and Lead Rider.

Medical Equipment

We carry with us a good supply of medicine 'PARAMEDIC EQUIPMENT' which can be used in emergency medical situations. Usually the tour is accompanied by a doctor who has spent his life working with the Mongolian Defence and is highly experienced in treating traumatic injuries.

Service Tools

The smooth running of the motorbike tours is dependent upon us being able to maintain and repair the bikes throughout the tour. Without the necessary service tools that would be impossible, so we take tools and spare parts, and of course, capable staff to do the job. That's another reason you can travel with us peacefully.

Support Vehicles

Our support vehicles are the best for their purpose and for the Mongolian conditions; they include Land Rover Defenders, British Army Reynolds Boughton trucks and Russian forgon's. All our vehicles are owned and maintained by us and driven by our own company drivers. We do not hire vehicles from outside, nor do we use drivers who we do not know.

Mongolia is a unique and relatively unexplored travel destination that offers a great combination of scenic natural features, a wide variety of untouched landscapes, nomadic life style and culture.

Tourism in Mongolia was extremely limited by the Communist Government, but has been expanding following the 1990 Democratic Revolution in Mongolia in the wake of the break-up of the USSR and the Revolution of 1989. With one of the world's lowest population densities, the vastness of the Mongolian grassland, desert, as well as the numerous mountains, rivers and lakes offer plenty of adventure.

Trails and Terrain

The best trails and challenging terrain

Mongolia is the ideal country for an off-road experience since this country the size of Western Europe has only a few hundred kilometers of black-topped roads. The rest of the land is connected by a network of rough jeep tracks and horse trails linking small communities and seasonal pastures.

The road conditions are unpredictable. Sometimes it looks perfectly safe, flat and easy, but suddenly you come to a place where the rain has worn away the road into deep grooves which are treacherous for motorcycles and cyclists alike.

About Bike Mongolia

Bike Mongolia is a family run business which has been operating since 1998. We started with mountain biking tours because the founder of the company was the Olympic trainer for the Mongolian National Cycling Team and several members of the team are former racing cyclists. In 2005 we expanded to include off-road motorcycling tours in Mongolia. We have offices in the UK and Germany staffed by locals & Mongolians who have done most of the trips themselves so they know everything about the tour logistics, routes, landscape, accommodation, etc..  We are a completely independent travel tour operator in Mongolia, not an agent or representative of any other company. In addition we have the best & most enthusiastic team who work efficiently together to create the best experience.
