Tours in China |
|
|
For people arriving in Mongolia from China, this is a great opportunity
to stop off and see some of the most important attractions of
Beijing and the surrounding area. We can arrange airport transfers,
hotels and sightseeing to the Great Wall,
the Forbidden City,
Tiananmen Square, the Summer
Palace, and the Temple of
Heaven. It is also possible to travel a little further
and do some hiking on the Great Wall, or to visit Xian
where the famous terracotta warriors
were discovered. A flight south would take you to Guilin and the
Li river Gorge where you can enjoy some of the loveliest and most
traditional scenery in China, including a cruise down the stunning
Li River.

Tours in Moscow |

Many people traveling to Mongolia arrive via Moscow. If you would
like to stop on the way to enjoy some of the famous sights in and
around Moscow, we can arrange
hotels, transfers and tours for you. If you have time to take any
excursions outside the city, we recommend the Cosmonaut Training
Center, or Sergiev Posad,
center of the Russian Orthodox church.
We work with a small local company in Moscow, who will give the
same friendly and personal service that you will experience in Mongolia. |
| Trans
Siberian Train |
|
|
The infamous Trans Siberian train line runs from Moscow
to Beijing, passing through
Mongolia. It is a 5 day trip
from Moscow to Ulaanbaatar, and the train ride from Beijing
to Ulaanbaatar takes about
35 hours. The compartments on the train have beds (clean bedding
is supplied), a table, and plenty of luggage space. There is a
restaurant car on the train serving reasonable meals, and each
time the train stops at a town it is possible to disembark and
buy snacks or drinks on the platform. This is the most exciting
way to enter Mongolia, and we can arrange the train
journey for you, starting in either Moscow
or Beijing.

in Mongolia |

If you join one of our fixed date group tours, you might like to
spend a few extra days in Mongolia before or after the trip. Not
far from Ulaanbaatar is the Terelj National
Park, which is an area of big granite mountains, fast
flowing rivers and lush green meadows. It is ideal for hiking and
horseback riding, and there are many traditional ger camps in the
main valley where you can stay.
An extension tour to Kharkhorin
would take 3 or 4 days, and a trip to the Gobi
Desert would be 3 - 5 days long. It is also possible
for us to arrange a tour in the northern region of Khovsgol, which
is a perfect place for more hiking.
