Along the way...

Taikhir Rock

Taikhar Chuluu ©BikeMongolia Taikhir chuluu is a mysterious steep-sided pinnacle of granite, 25 meters high, rising abruptly from the flat grassland of the gravel spreads of the Tamir river. There is no agreement amongst geologists on the origin of this puzzling phenomenon and the pinnacle remains an enigma.

Khorgo volcano

Top of Khorgo Volcano ©BikeMongolia The volcano is located on the east shore of the White Lake. From its summit, which is covered in sacred ovoo, there are splendid views over the whole region and the lake. It was once a favourite holiday place for the Politburo members of the communist era.

Ugii Lake

Ugii Lake ©BikeMongoliaThis 25 square kilometer lake attracts a large number of migratory birds such as swan goose, white spoonbill and dalmatian pelican. The water is rich in perch and pike and good for fishing.
